Life Legacy



ALBRITTON, Laverna M (Wilson) went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the age of 94 years and 362 days. However, she celebrated her 95th birthday with family and friends on Saturday, May 9, 2015. Laverna was born May 15, 1920 in Dunn, NC, the oldest daughter of Nancy Myrtle (Rhiner) Wilson and John Thomas Wilson. Laverna moved to Florida with her family in the late 1920s. She met and married Denver W. Albritton of Sebring, FL on August 24, 1941 and lived in Highlands County for 72 years. Laverna was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 44 years, Denver W. Albritton; her parents, John and Myrtle Wilson, a brother Merle Glenn Wilson (infant); sister Grace Wilson; and sister Frances (Wilson) Farmer. Laverna was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sebring for approximately 60 years. She taught Sunday School for 20 years, was a leader in the Girls Auxiliary, and active in the Cradle Roll Department. Laverna is survived by her daughter Patricia A. Mixon and son-in-law Ralph Mixon of Lake Placid, FL, and her sister Dorothy Jean (Wilson) Longmire of Arcadia, FL. Laverna is also survived by three grandsons and six great grandchildren. Grandson Aaron D. Trippensee, wife Andrea, and great granddaughters Amanda and Anna of Lake City, FL; Grandson Austin F. Trippensee, wife Honey, and great granddaughter Bonnie and great grandson Alex of Cary, NC; Grandson Dr. Arvin W. Trippensee, wife Marnie, and great grandsons Denver and Bryce of Aiea, HI . Laverna is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Laverna was a loving and devoted wife, a caring and loving mother, and she greatly loved her grandsons and their families. Laverna’s great grandchildren were a total delight to her. The family will receive friends and family, Saturday, May 16th at 10:00-11:00 AM at Morris Funeral Chapel with a Celebration of Life to follow Saturday at 11:00 AM, Morris Funeral Chapel with Pastor Johnny Bryant, officiating. She will then be placed next to her late husband at Pinecrest Cemetery.
