Life Legacy
John C. Eller, age 94, of Sebring, FL. Found rest on October 22, 2010 at The Palms.
Dear father of J. Thomas Eller and Michael C. Eller and stepfather of Bette Jo Row
Green and Doris Miller Quarles. Devoted brother of Raymon Eller and Lowell Eller.
Preceded in death by beloved wives Jessie Mae Conner Eller, Leona Row Eller and
Elizabeth Miller Eller. He was born in Salem, VA, and educated at Bridgewater
College, Bethany Theological Seminary and Northwestern University. Following his
professional career, including, for many years, being the Administrator of Bethany
Brethren Hospital in Chicago, IL, he moved to Sebring and lived at The Palms of
Sebring for the remainder of his life. During his 25 years in Sebring, he was very
active in the Sebring Church of the Brethren, helped create The Palms Foundation,
and was a member of the Torch Club of Highlands County and the Highlands County
Genealogical Association. Among his many interests, he enjoyed spending time at the
Highlands Hammock State Park. A memorial service will be held in early December at

I've known John most of my life. I was a small boy when I first met him in Lombard, IL, where we went to the same church. His son Tom and I are about the same age. It was quite a treat for me to be his "chaplain" when he moved to The Palms. I doubt either of us would have ever expected that when I was growing up. Though it has been a few years since I last saw him, it was a joy to still be connected during Christmas letters and occasionaly e-mail. His life was a blessing.
