Life Legacy



ELLIS, DALE EDWARD, 74 of Sebring, Fl passed away April 14, 2012 at Good Shepherd Hospice. He was born in Newcastle, IN, and attended Perdue University. Dale retired from the U.S. Navy in 1977 as Chief Petty Officer. He moved to Sebring in 2004 and attended First Christian Church and was a life member of V.F.W. Post #4300 and a member of the Honor Guard. Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Judith E. Ellis, April 19, 2010. He is survived by his step-mother, Virginia Ellis, Newcastle, IN; wife, Linda Correll Ellis, Sebring; sons, Duane Ellis, San Diego, CA, Daniel Ellis, Elmira, MI, Doug Ellis, Columbus, OH and daughter, Deborah Vandergriff, Knoxville, TN; brothers, Jim Ellis, Pendelton, IN and Stephen Ellis, Fortville, IN; sister, Cheri Stockton, Knightstown, IN; grandchildren, Zack, Ben, Danielle, Cooper and Sophie. A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church, 4:00 pm, Thursday with Military Honors to follow. A reception will be held 5:00 pm, Thursday at V.F.W. Post #4300. Interment will be Friday 2:00 pm at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to the V.F.W. Post #4300 for the cancer fund.
