Dear Goff Family, When I was a teenager, Mrs Goff had a stove with a deep-well that held a large metal pot. She would fill up the pot with peanuts and water (and maybe some secret ingredient) and drop the pot in the top of the stove and it would disappear. It seemed like hours later she would pull up the metal pot and we could finally eat the boiled peanuts. Sometimes we would sit around the dining room table and eat peanuts and sometimes we would sit on a blanket outside and eat them. They were the best boiled peanuts in the Westside. I also remember Mr. Goff. He told my boyfriend he had a wild animal in a cage in the garage. He went on and on about this wild animal. When we went to the garage he brought it out and told us to look very close but not to touch it. All we could see was something furry. All of a sudden he released the door and his wild animal flew across the yard. Of course we all ran screaming down the driveway. These are two of my favorite memories of Mr. and Mrs. Goff.
