GOLDEN, ALEC EDWARD, 66, passed away February 3, 2013 in Sebring, FL. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Stephens Golden and a sister, Cora Sue Golden, MD (retired); step-son, Bill Cromartie, Jr. and wife , Cathy Carter Cromartie; grandchildren, Taylor Ann Cromartie and Chase DeWitt Cromartie; brother-in-law, Dr. Norman and his wife, Laurie Stephens and sister-in-law, Carol Stephens and many nieces and nephews. Alec was born in Ohio, lived in Louisville and settled in Ft. Lauderdale where he graduated from Ft. Lauderdale High School, class of 1964. He attended J.C.B.C. And graduated from Mortuary School in Louisville, in 1970. He did a tour of duty with the U.S. Army, First Infantry division in Viet Nam. Alec and wife, Peggy settled in Sebring in 2006. He was glad to get out of the rush of South Florida and quickly fell in love with the people of Sebring who are so friendly. He came to the races every year since High School. He also drove in 3, one lap Americas races. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the South Florida State College Foundation, Inc., 13 E. Main Street, Avon Park, FL 33825. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 6, 2013, 6-8 pm at their residence, 2918 Meadowood Ln, Sebring.
