Knew Marvin back in the 60's here In Pueblo. I left town in '68 and returned in 1971 and never saw him again. He was gone but not forgotten. Through the years, myself, Gene "Fast Eddy" Feldsein and Jon Ellis would now and then bring up his name and remember some of the fun we all had and what a great guy he was. None of us knew where he drifted off to but he was always remembered. Sorry to hear of his passing but wherever he went I know he's working a deal. See you on the flip side Marv.

Dear Griesan Family:
It is with a heavy heart that I write this letter to you on the occasion of Marvin's passing Marvin and I were childhood friends spending much time at his house during the summer. I remember selling lemonade at his house. His mom, Lola, was such a gentle patient soul and his dad "Pat" was always low key and unassuming I always enjoyed the time spent there with Marvin.
We lost touch when I went to public school I the sixth grade.
Through the years, I passed by Wabash traveling on Northern Avenue many times, I thought of Marvin and his family. I never knew about Marv and what path life took him. What a shame to look back on our friendship and realize he has passed.
I would like to express my sincere condolences to him mom and dad and his whole family.
To Marvin: Thanks for the memories!! I will never forget those good times nor will ever forget you in my prayers!
May God ease the pain of his loss for your family. And, may eternal light shine upon Marvin. May he find eternal peace in the bosom of the Lord forever!
Sincerely,
Ron Runyan

Like a character out of a Mark Twain novel, Life to Marvin was one Grand Adventure. No one loved Life more than he did. His quest for discovery often landed him in trouble (like the time he blew a hole in the garage wall experimenting with his chemistry set), but he would bounce back quicker than a jack-in-the-box without the box. There was no box big enough to contain him, his heart or his enthusiasm. With his positivity, he continues to be an inspiration. As a bright radiant light, he shines on us all. Miss you, bro!

Marvin, my son, you left me too early and you left me with a hole in my heart. Your gentle-sweetness shown through in all you did. Especially (one example out of many) when you phoned me EVERY day from Florida (I was in the hospital with hip replacement, Aug 2011, for 3 weeks) and once I got home, you continued to phone me EVERY Sunday and we'd talk for an hour. I no longer wait for Sundays to come. I love you Marvin! Ever this day be at my side, to light and guide, to rule and guide. -- mom, Lola

07/26/2017 - Adele Bologna

I'm one from Michigan, Diane Nowakowski's sister - Adele Bologna 885 N. Pemberton, Bloomfield Hills, MI . 48302. When I heard about Red, I really wanted to send a card somewhere, but I didn't have any addresses. He was such an inspiration to me and my family. Whenever we would visit Florida we always had some special time with Red. I truly believe he was a gift from God, sorta like a cross between Santa Claus (fun, giving, twinkle in his eyes) and a Wizard (smart, teaching, creative, productive). I remember his story about picking up my son Danny from the airport when he traveled by himself to visit Diane and Konrad's family - he was smiling and wondering about this little 10yr old boy with the suit case and a golf bag twice the size of his little body. What a great visit they had! LOVED, LOVED, LOVED RED. Miss him and his great emails! We shall always remember Red!

07/26/2017 - Bill and Candy Rightsell

We have been friends with Red for 35+ years. Through our moves and traveling we always stayed in touch and visited. He has a place in our hearts forever. When candy was injured (incomplete quadriplegic)she called him when she was able to use a phone to let him know what happened to her. He was on his way to an auction in Ocala. He turned around and went directly to the Tampa VA hospital to see her. He went there each week for months. He fed her, kept her company and brought movies. His upbeat spirit helped her to keep going. The other patients looked forward to his visits as well. His love of life was contagious. He is loved and missed.
