Life Legacy



MATTISON, Jr, William H. 77, Loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather was called home by our Lord on July 18, 2012 after a long illness. He was born in Bradenton, FL in 1935 and graduated from Manatee High School in 1953. He moved to Thomasville, GA where he met his wife, of 55 years, Valda Wilder. He worked for JC Penney for over 40 years starting out a a stock clerk rapidly rising up to become the youngest manager. Pennys had at the time, when he was offered a store in Corpus Christi, TX, subsequent manager positions in Tampa, Avon Park and Sebring where he was a member of Sebring Rotary Club. After retiring in 1992, he enjoyed golfing, traveling and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents, William H and Joyce Lily (Meeks) Mattison and a sister Mary who passed in infancy. He is survived by his wife, Valda, four children, Pamela Glass, Terry Santerfeit, Michael Mattison and Mark Mattison. 7 grandchildren, William, Amy, Emily, Nickolas, Hanna, Markey and Mikey. 4 Great grandchildren, Dylan, Alexia, Isabella and Carly. You will always be alive in our hearts. Rest in Peace Sweet Patriarch. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 21, 2012, 11:00 AM at Morris Funeral Chapel, Sebring, FL Arrangements by Morris Funeral Chapel, Sebring, FL. In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorials to God Shepherd hospice.
