Life Legacy

Donna Maxine McCaman, 89, went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 13, 2015.
Donna was born September 21, 1926 in Rodney, MI. She was the daughter of William and Emma Jehnsen. She was a 1945 graduate of Barrytown, MI High school and married Samuel McCaman on August 11, 1945 in the Rodney Church of the Brethren. Sam and Donna lived in numerous places throughout the United States during a lifetime of pastoral ministry with the Church of the Brethren. They retired to Sebring, Florida in 1988.
Donna was a partner in ministry in each of the churches that Sam was called to pastor. She was involved in visitation with Sam and working with special events. Even in retirement, Donna enjoyed visiting shut-ins and friends in the hospital. She and Sam were always the first in their mobile home park to welcome new residents with a smile and a small loaf of homemade bread. They enjoyed many evenings playing table games with friends. Donna is survived by her brother, Art Jehnsen (Beaverton, MI), her sister, Phyllis Beall (Midland, MI) , her sons Tommy McCaman (Hickory, NC) and Gary McCaman (Mulberry, FL after 22 years of missionary service in Argentina), 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel J. McCaman, her parents, her brothers, Ernest, William, and Ray, her sister, Dora Sonicksen and her son, Samuel Jr.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 2:00 PM at The Palms of Sebring, in Sebring, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Project Heifer www.heifer.org.

Condolences or Life Stories may be expressed in her Guestbook. Morris Funeral Chapel, Sebring, Fl.

May Donna rest in peace. My parents were Cliff and Eileen Sexton, who lived at the Palms Estates, then in the independent living building at The Palms just a few doors down the hall from Sam and Donna when they moved in. Sam and Donna were always so loving and caring about my parents, and were especially attentive to my mom after my dad died. I was so grateful to them for their enduring concern and love for my parents. They were all good friends for many years.
