Life Legacy

McCOY, James Thomas Patrick, 82 of Lake Placid, FL passed away peacefully on Nov. 18, 2010 at Balmoral Asst. Living Facility. James was under the care of Cornerstone Hospice. James left this world to be with God and his loving wife of 61 years, Helen. Born Jan. 8, 1928 in Ny, NY to James & Nora McCoy. James served in W.W. II as a Navy Seaman. He was a father of 5 children, Kevin (Lorie) McCoy, Carol Willard, Lorraine (John) Perritt, Deborah Christian and James McCoy, Jr.; eleven grandchildren and four great granchildren. James was so proud of this family, his Irish Heritage and his strong work ethic. From Reeves Instrument to Lake Placid Middle Schools where he retired. A favorite Irish quote of James was: “May the friendships you make endure....and all of your grey clouds be small ones for sure. “ Services for Mr. McCoy will be private at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. The family suggests memorials to Cornerstone Hospice, 1285 1st Street S, Winter Haven, FL 33880; First Coast Cancer Foundation, 2537 Riverside Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32204 or Highlands County Humane Society, 7321 Haywood Taylor Blvd, Sebring, FL 33876.
