Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel and although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer. On behalf of Walts extended family at The Avon Park Police Department know that we are remembering you and honoring the memory of "Walt"
May Gods promiss to us help you get through this time of sorrow and know one day we will be with him again.

Nora and Family,
When I came to Avon Park 9 years ago Walt was one of the first to welcome me. Since that time we worked together in changing the dispatch area into our office. When I needed a helping hand with anything all I had to do was ask. This was the type of man Walt was. I will miss you for sure My Friend. May you Rest In Peace with the Lord.
My Thoughts And Prayers are with the family.

Walt, I could always count on you to help me fix our computer problems at the Fire Department. Now we have changed like the changes of the world. I really enjoyed your music at church. We will keep Nora close in our hearts and in church. You are missed by all. See you someday.

When I first came to Lake Placid, Walt took the time to show me how to do internet website publishing. He spent time at the lake Placid Police Department helping us set up a network. Walt was a very talented and generous man. He always had a quiet encouraging word. Knowing that a person of Walt's character is no longer in the world will make the world a lot lonelier. He will be missed. He was "good people."

Nora and family,
I started working with Walt soon after he started working at the PD. He was often the first friendly face I would see when I'd go in to the station to check reports. He was always so very helpful with anything I needed. Even when policies became stricter, he'd still try to accommodate and if he couldn't he'd say so. I had such respect for him. He often talked about you, Nora. His love for you was so great. Walt will certainly be missed by many of us. My prayers are with all of you.

10/28/2009 - Greg Walt,
I loved you like a brother. There were so many things that you and I shared together. I will never forget you and you will always be in my heart

10/28/2009 - Chief Matthew P. Doughney
My heart goes out to Walt's family as well as those of us in the Law Enforcement community that had the honor to work with Walt. The time on earth we spend together if limited and fragile; and Walt's memory will stay alive in the hearts of those that loved him.

To Walt: Until we meet again, may God Hold you in the palm of his hand.
Chief Doughney

My deepest sadness for the lost of oour friend and co-worker. I remember Walt and I coming outside for a break (smoke) and telling jokes. Walt was a hardworking and dedicated individual who giving up was not an option. We all know you are now in a better place, but still is hard to take that you are gone. Please remember this: Live your life today as if it the last day.Because you never know when God will call you to His side.
