Life Legacy

Bianchi-Menning, GERTRUDE “Trudy” LILAH, age 93, of Sebring, Florida peacefully left earth from Melbourne, Florida and joined her friends and family in heaven on Saturday October 16, 2010. Born May 22, 1917 in Hanover, NH – Trudy worked many jobs in her younger years including laundry facility, sewing and her best talent was in dealing with people as a waitress. In these years Trudy met her first husband Lorenzo Frank Bianchi “Bennie”, in Lebanon, VT. They married in 1944 and had two children Patricia Lee (1950) and Michael David (1959). In 1960 the family moved to Miami, Fl. Trudy was a house wife and worked from time to time in the service sector in restaurants, the VA Canteen and the school cafeteria. Trudy moved to Sebring, FL in 1972 and joined the Columbinets as a charter member and was one of their early Presidents. She also served for years as a Volunteer for Meals on Wheels. In 1987 she married her second husband Bernard “Bernie” Menning and remained in Sebring, FL. Bernie and Trudy enjoyed the best of life and were awesome grandparents, they traveled the country by plane, train, boat and car – they never missed visiting our families in Miami and Naples, FL or the many Military duty stations all over the world. Trudy leaves us all a legacy of love and laughter and many memories that will remain “in our hearts for all our days”. She is survived by her oldest daughter Patti Bianchi-Bowen, son-in-law John Bowen, her Son Mike Bianchi, COL, USA Retired, daughter-in-law Debbie McClain-Bianchi, four grandchildren, Shawn Bowen, Laura Bowen, Capt (USAF) Ashley Bianchi-Maher, Amanda Bianchi and five great-grandchildren.
