MURRAY, JR., ROBERT S., age 81 of Sebring, FL died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 at Florida Hospital Heartland. Bob was born in Landisberg, WV, a graduate of Hargrove Military Academy, Chadam, VA and attended Marshall University, Huntingdon, WV. He entered the U.S. Amy where he served as a drill sergeant and taught marksmanship. Bob married Ann Armstrong on July 1, 1948 and moved to Miami in 1950. He worked for Frank J. Rooney Construction serving as Vice-President and retired from Witters Construction moving to Sebring in 1990. Bob was a Methodist; past president of Associated General Contractors of Miami, South Florida Chapter; Sebring Masonic Lodge #249; Scottish Rite Bodies, York Rite; Egypt Shrine Temple and past president of Highlands Shrine Club. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Ann and is survived by his sons and their wives, Robert S. and Hope Murray, III and Richard A. and Valerie Murray; grandchildren, Robert S. Murray, IV and Alexa Murray. Visitation 9:00 am – 10:00 am, Thursday with services to follow at 10:00 am at Morris Funeral Chapel, 307 S. Commerce Ave., Sebring with Rev. Kenneth H. Geren officiating. Masonic Rites will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to Highlands Shrine Club for Shriners Childrens Hospital, P.O. Box 229, Sebring, FL 33871.
