Guestbook

11/05/2009 - Robin Heldman It is with a heavy heart that I write this message. Too often we take for granite the individuals who impact our lives in a hugh way with so little effort or acknowledgement that they have done just that. I was a young lady when I first had the opportunity to meet Burt and then the privlege to work for him at Farm Bureau. He was a wonderful person and terrific boss who after time became a cherished friend. Roger and I have always admired Burt and Dixie as two of the most kind and sincere individuals we have been fortunate to have had in our lives. It was not the fact that we spoke on a daily basis after he retired nor that we spoke on a monthly basis, but the times that he and Dixie came to town, the effort was always made to call or stop by and say, "Hello and how are things going." Burt gave me encouragement to pursue the opportunity for Roger and I to own our own business and always made me feel good about the fact that we were working toward our goal. I didn't have much of a father figure when I was young, but Burt was the perfect father figure for a young lady new to the working world. He supported me in my business endeavors and my weighlifting career. He made me feel proud of each and every accomplishment I made big or small. I have always admired his dedication to his wife and family and modeled my marriage after he and Dixie's. They are the perfect example of a match made in heaven. I will miss Burt very much, but will never forget each and every fond memory I have of him. Those will forever be in my heart.

Dear Cheri and family, My thoughts and prayers are with you today. I know what a wonderful father your dad was from all the loving thoughts you shared with me. There is an emptiness that only those who have lost a father can understand. He will be greatly missed. May God give you strength and comfort that surpasses all understanding today and the days to come. My sympathy and love goes out to you and your family. Lovingly, Susan

Dixie, Cheri, Greg... I wanted to tell you how sad I was to hear about Burtis. What a wonderful man! Dad always thought the world of him and Mom thought he was one of the funniest people she's ever known. I just remember being at your house, swimming, visiting and enjoying you all so much! Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

I was very sorry to read about the passing of your dad, Greg. Though I only met him a few times, I still have great memories of a weekend at Monroe with your family when we were in high school. I know he will be greatly missed by you, your family and his friends and colleagues. My thoughts are with you.
