Life Legacy



TAYLOR, BETTY SUE, 79 of Sebring, FL died July 11, 2013. She was born July 6, 1934 in Hartford, AL moving to Sebring in 1957 from Alabama. A graduate of Geneva County High School. Her employments included sales clerk at Kahn's Department Store; secretary for John Carson, Realtor and working in the office of Sebring High School for over 20 years. Betty had been a member of the Sebring Jr. Women's Club and the Sebring Historical Society. For many years she played bridge in both the Ladies' and couples clubs. She was a long time faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Sebring where for a while she served as a Sunday School teacher in the elementary department and for years she served on the Communion Committee. After retirement she volunteered for twelve years at Highlands Regional Hospital in the Auxiliary as a front desk Pink Lady receptionist. She also, along with her good friend Louise Sauls, delivered Meals on Wheels for over 15 years. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Eura Bottoms and brothers, Earl, Paul and Junior and her first husband Billy R. Galloway. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Haywood Taylor; son, Michael Taylor (Alice); and daughter Alison. Also sister-in-laws, Kate Bottoms, Jo Commander (Bill), Reba Taylor (O.L.), and Christine Taylor. Other survivors include many dear cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends Sunday 4-6:00 pm at Morris Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be 11AM, Monday, July 15, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. A.C. Bryant officiating.
