THOMAS, LARUE VIRGIL, 82 of Sebring, FL went to be with his Lord, Friday, June 10, 2011. He was born in Union City, PA and worked for Cohen Auto Parts, Erie, PA prior to moving to New Port Richey, FL. A former member of Suncoast Baptist Church, he and worked for Pasco Co. Bus Garage. In 1991 he and his late wife, Audrey moved to Maranatha Village, Sebring, and he worked in the village office and later for Highlands Co. Bus Garage and was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. He proudly served in the Highlands County Concert Band. LaRue was preceded in death by his brother, Roger and a sister, Rose Aimee Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Bertie Thomas; children, Beverly Shade, Muriel Steves, Charlotte Beck, Gayle Stringfellow, Amy Lowe, Kevin Thomas, Gilbert Thomas, Linda Quinn, Mark Miller and Nancy Gaines; twenty eight grandchildren and thirty one great grandchildren. Visitation, 10:30 AM, Monday, June 20th with services to follow at 11:00 AM, Maranatha Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 9-10AM at First Baptist Church, Troublecreek Road, Elfers, FL. The service will follow at 10:00 AM with burial at Meadowlawn Memrial Park at 11:30 AM in Elfers, FL. Memorials are suggested to ABWE or Gideons International.
