Life LegacyTYRE, JAMES R. (JIM), 77, died March 20th at The Palms in Sebring, FL. With his wife at his side. He was born in Lebanon, IN, September 19, 1935 son of Walter Ray and Mary Moore Tyre. He married Janet Heinbaugh on September 12, 1959 and was a life long resident of Lebanon, graduating from Lebanon High School. Jim served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Essex from 1956 to 1958 and remained in the reserves until 1962. He worked with the Federal Court System for 27 years and retired in 1988 as Clerk of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. He was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, Life member of the Lebanon Elks, Masonic Lodge #9, F & AM, The America Legion and former member of Ulen Country Club. For many years he enjoyed vacationing with his family and fishing at their cottage on Dogtooth Lake in Canada and later he and his wife wintered in Lake Placid, Fl. He also enjoyed golf, cooking and gardening. Survivors in addition to his wife are children, W. Richard (Rick) and Tammy Tyre, Lebanon and Robert (Rob) and Kristian Tyre, Mainesville, OH, two granddaughters, Jennifer Tyre, Mainesville and Katelyn Tyre, Cold Springs, KY and a sister, Lolabelle Davis, Lebanon; several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church Music Department or Boone County Senior Services.
